Aquatope on White Sand
Does anybody know what an “aquatope” is?
Does anybody know what an “aquatope” is?
A little hilarious, a little confusing, a little pretty, a little relatable even, Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department combines the fantastical with the mundane and does it pretty well.
We’ve had enough of these essay-length titles! Let’s just use a number for a title!
As Bojji would put it, “Aaa aaa aa aaaaauhaaa!” Or, as Kage would translate for me: I hate this show.
This is one of the finest examples of anime drama I have ever seen.
I love this show! You know I love unique efforts in anime. And you know I tend to categorize individual anime based on whether the series is driven by its characters, artwork, or story. It’s a rare bonus when the soundtrack for a show plays a big role in any of those factors. It’s an even rarer bonus when purely […]
Another great example of late 1990s anime! Beautiful art style, winding storylines that don’t quite fit a single genre (for more reasons than one here), and entertaining characters that scream nostalgia and classics. Trigun is above all entertaining, and has some academically interesting parts as well. It’s somewhere between a masterpiece and a giant mess though, and it’s sometimes difficult […]
Jou-jou-yuujou magi magi kaichou! This whole review could be the translation of that entire second half opening and pretty sufficiently describe this show. Other possibilities include me simply repeating “Omg, what is this?” as I close my mouth previously agape with shock and laugh my head off, tears rolling down my face.
This is not typical isekai. This show is way off the ordinary isekai track. Most isekai shows are subjected, unfairly I believe, to the charge of being very cookie-cutter, sharing too many characteristics, to the point that one seems very much like a copy of the next. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation definitely does everything it can to buck that label. […]
Monday is a terrible day of the week isn’t it? It’s disliked worldwide it seems. Boy did one illustrator find a solution with this series! And it has gone on a horni boi rampage ever since.
This is how anime should be.
A very curious anime. And it’s spectacular!
The phrase “short and sweet” was made for this anime. Emphasis on “sweet.”
This was bad.
This isn’t the kind of harem anime that you meet out in the streets and be like “Hey how you doing? How’s the family?” This is the kind of harem anime that you meet, you look at it, it looks at you, and then it proceeds to chase wildly after you all the way back to your inexpensive residence, whereupon, […]
Another predictable isekai anime? Really? No Hawk, it’s parody. Oh, it’s parody, you say—well that just makes everything better doesn’t it?
